Once again, Japanisches Haus invites you to its summer festival!
Look forward to a colorful day with food, culture, workshops, music, games and encounters in Leipzig’s East.
✨ Program Highlights
Japanese Food
Our team from Yabai will be cooking something delicious. Ippuku will also be joining us as a food provider.
DJG Leipzig
The German-Japanese Society Leipzig will be involved again and will offer hands-on activities.
Matcha / Tea Ceremony
As in the previous year, a traditional matcha tea ceremony is planned.
Go Club Leipzig
The Go Club Leipzig will be joining us again and invites visitors to discover and play the game.
Ilurame e.V.
Ilurame e.V. will be joining us for the first time this year. The association will offer several Japanese summer festival classics. We are very excited!
Akipponn
Akipponn will offer an origami activity: visitors can create origami school cones.
amemal
amemal will have its own stand and present Amezaiku – the traditional Japanese art of shaping small figures from sugar.
Eri Minamiguchi
Eri Minamiguchi will offer a workshop where visitors can design tile coasters.
Shamisen Workshop with Megumi Hayami
Learn a song on the shamisen in just 20 minutes: “Sakura Sakura”.
No previous experience is needed.

Workshops and Hands-on Activities
Various workshops and hands-on activities are planned – from origami to calligraphy. There will also be games and activities for different age groups, including Kingyo-sukui, Senbonhiki, Suikawari and more.
If you have never heard these words before, it will be especially exciting for you. 🙂
Together with participating associations, groups and members of Japanisches Haus, we would like to create many activities for children and adults.
Shiatsu
Anyone who has always wanted to get an insight into this form of massage will have the opportunity at the summer festival. There will be an information stand about Shiatsu. In a quieter area away from the hustle and bustle, visitors can also take part in introductory sessions.
