During our regular opening hours, many people of different origins come together. This diversity is our strength. However, the time and company do not suit everyone. Therefore, we have decided to occasionally offer afternoon family events. These often focus on Japanese festivals or seasonal events. We open the space, provide materials, and children create crafts with their parents. We pursue three specific goals with these events:
- We want to provide Japanese families with a meeting point in Leipzig where they can network.
- We want to offer people who rarely have the time to visit us due to family commitments an additional point of contact.
- We want to give families a glimpse into Japanese festivals and hope for an open exchange between families and a neighborhood gathering.
These events are intended to gradually become community events in which families can participate in planning. Currently, the preparation and implementation are still managed by a few people. Our goal is for many people to contribute: One person brings food, another prepares a crafting template, and others bring craft supplies or decorate the space, and so on.
